Sandstone's natural porosity means it picks up every spill, dust, dirt, fungus and every other mark. Without a protective finish, sandstone becomes a maintenance nightmare. It stains easily, dulls quickly, and looks perpetually dirty even after cleaning.
The Clear Glossy Coating changes the equation entirely. The Heavy Duty Cleaner first removes all built-up grime, oil and residue from the porous stone surface — getting it back to a clean, even base. Then the Clear Glossy Coating goes on — sealing every pore, enhancing the natural warm colour of the sandstone, and laying down a hard, glossy protective surface that makes the stone look finished and premium.

Application Details
CLEAN
- Remove dust and debris, slightly wet the surface with water before applying the cleaner
- Spray Winseal Heavy Duty Cleaner on the surface using a sprayer, without diluting it.
- Allow 2-3 minutes of dwell time, where the cleaner will loosen the dust and dirt deposits.
- Scrub lightly with a soft bristle brush or non-abrasive pad to lift residues.
- Rinse thoroughly with lots of clean water.
- Repeat if required for heavy scaling.
- Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours.
COAT
- Shake the product container well.
- On the dry sandstone surface, apply the first layer of Winseal Clear Glossy coating without diluting it with anything. Apply the coating using a roller or brush. Avoid coating excess/thick layer.
- Let the first coat dry for 3 to 4 hours.
- Apply a second layer of coating with same method and apply the coating in perpendicular direction to the first layer. apply a thin layer of coating.
- Allow the coating to dry for 24 hours before use.

The Clear Glossy Coating gives a visible shine — more than satin, less than a high-gloss lacquer. The sandstone texture and character remain fully visible underneath. It reads as a polished, finished surface — not a plastic or tiled look. Think of it as the difference between matte paint and eggshell — same material, more refined finish.

The Clear Glossy Coating is formulated to stay clear — it does not yellow with age or UV exposure.

Yes, you can apply this kit on sandstone used outdoors for walkways, walls and facade elements.

This is normal for very porous sandstone. The solution is more number of thin coats, not thicker coats. Apply three or four thin coats with full drying time between each — this gives a more even result than two heavy coats.

If the old sealer is still intact and bonded, the new coating may not adhere properly. Remove the old sealer first or contact us to confirm compatibility before applying.
